Customer Support
Unfortunately, it does seem that customer service is one of the highest reasons for their negative ratings on Trustpilot. Many of these reviews state that they have to wait up to an hour on the phone to speak to someone, or that they have been told they will be getting a callback and this does not happen for days or weeks.
Although online reviews are not always accurate, it is essential to take them into consideration when deciding which energy provider is best for you and your home.
Positive Customer Support Solarplicity review
Miss Carmen Panait on Trustpilot:
I can say I was very pleased about the way that I have been informed over the phone. A gentleman called me, and he had so much patience to answer all of my questions (has lots). I truly recommend them!
Negative Customer Support Solarplicity review
Signed up to switch back on 13/6, told would be through in 21 days heard nothing by this week 30/7 so emailed, heard nothing, now been on the phone for over 45 minutes. Not looking promising, reading other reviews appears they must be having severe issues with customer service?
Contract Length and Fees
Solarplicity offers a range of both fixed and variable tariffs, but you are going to get a lot more discounts opting for one of their fixed options vs the variable options.
Customers can enjoy discounts of £21 per fuel when on a dual fuel plan, a £30 SMART reward and free LED lights, all of which can cut your annual costs considerably.

Solarplicity Review
With an overall Trustpilot score of 2/5 stars, Solarplicity does have very mixed reviews. With 23% of those reviews positive and 47% falling within the negative category, it does not guarantee that you would receive a bad service by switching, but you should always compare energy suppliers before deciding on which is best for you and your household.
Positive Solarplicity review
The review is based on the recent switch of both gas and electricity supply and my first switch of energy supplier. Forms completed online, and notification received when supply went live. A meter reading was requested and subsequently bill received from former suppliers.
Negative Solarplicity review
Completely unresponsive, have tried to call them several times, have sent several emails and 0 response.

Who Should Use the Company?
Based on all of the information, including an objective Solarplicity review, a look into the company and what they offer their customers, this company might be a good fit for those who value renewable energies highly and prefer to communicate with their suppliers via chat and email rather than over the phone.
Solarplicity Review
Summary
Solarplicity has many mixed reviews, considering that on the one hand, they are a company that offers renewable energy and offers to buy green power from their customers, but on the other hand, according to Trustpilot, their customer support has been weak in the past. It seems that if Solarplicity could work on those faults, they would be a top-rated company thanks to the services they offer for both domestic and business customers.
Pros
- Renewable energy
- Recently announced a £1 billion scheme for social housing
- Free LED lightbulbs to save customers money
Cons
- 2-star rating on Trustpilot
- They have admitted that this year their customer service has slipped
- Without their dual fuel discounts, they are not as cost effective as their competitors
