They allow you to choose from paying monthly via direct debit, or paying as you go which means that you pay for your energy as and when you use it.
Robin Hood Energy claims to give you both competitive prices compared to the ‘big six’ and the opportunity to get your energy from a straightforward and honest company.
Smart Meters
Robin Hood Energy offers smart meters to both existing and new customers, so you can pay as you go for your energy.
These meters allow you to see in real time what energy you are using, which can help you to lower your weekly energy costs by becoming more energy efficient.
This not only eliminates estimated billing, but it also means that you no longer have to submit meter readings, as this meter will do it for you.
Pay as You Go
Just like a pay as you go phone, pay as you go tariff allows you to top up your energy usage as and when you need it, which can be handy if you are rarely at home and don’t want to pay a fixed price tariff which can be a lot more.
Feed in Tariffs
The feed-in tariff or FIT for short is a government scheme to promote small independent renewable energy generation technology.
It means that if you produce your energy from sources like solar, you can be paid the overall electricity that you generate and your excess which goes back to the grid.

Robin Hood Energy offers many guides on their website to help your home or your business become more energy efficient.
These tips can range from doing something as simple as turning off the lights, to more complex solutions like padding your home with more insulation or a new boiler.

I would not recommend using Robin Hood Energy, I have had nothing but issues! Communication: poor, customer service: poor, the accuracy of estimates: poor.

Positive Robin Hood Energy Review
Robin Hood Energy was helpful in making the switch to them, with good email communication. I like the choice of payment options which all come at the same price, and for me, I like the variable direct debit option so that each monthly payment reflects actual consumption
Negative Robin Hood Energy Review
I joined Robin hood over a year ago for gas and electric. Been paying them regularly only to now have found out they didn’t take over the gas correctly. Absolute mess up. Spent over 22 hours on the phone to them and E-on arguing who’s fault it is. Only 22 hours later robin hood admits they messed up. The service is good apart from this.
