What’s in this review?
Are you considering a switch to Axis for Business?
Did you know that Axis provides their business customers with all of their main utilities in one place?
This means that you can enjoy focusing on running your company instead of worrying about different contracts with different companies.
Let’s take a closer look.
Introduction
Axis for Business was founded in 2001 and provides business utilities to all sizes of companies across the UK. They claim to give you competitive prices regardless of whether you are a one-person business to a multi-site corporation. They offer their customers these benefits:
- Truly independent
- Quality service
- Value for money
- They listen to their customers
They also say that they keep the promises they make and that they want to develop long-term relationships with their customers and partners.
Costs and Fees
Like many energy suppliers, Axis for Business does not offer potential customers an estimated quote for what their monthly or annual usage might look like.
This is because your business requires an entirely bespoke quote that depends on various things such as the size of your business, and your estimated energy usage.

Smart Meters
A smart meter allows you to take control over your energy usage, as it not only sends automatic meter readings to your supplier, but it also lets you view your usage in real time.
This means an end to estimated bills, plus you will end up learning how to become more energy efficient as you will be able to see where your power is going.
As some tariffs offer cheaper at night, businesses that operate in the day may find themselves with a higher bill than those who mainly work at night.
Mobile
Axis for Business also offers mobile services, which they say will save your business significantly on your costs.
They offer both sims only packages as well as pay monthly tariffs, which they claim will give you access to the UK’s ‘largest and most effective’ network.

Axis’ internet service offers many options of broadband speeds up to 80mbps with fibre optic broadband and 24mbps standard ADSL.
Customer Support
Although Axis for Business does not have a wholly positive review score online, they do have some positive reviews about their customer service.
Positive Customer Support Review
Richard Cotterill on Google:
We’ve been with Axis for quite some years, and I have to say that my experience with them has been very positive. Whenever I have had to contact them, I have found their staff to be professional and helpful.
Negative Customer Support Review
Dolly Shihtzu on Google:
One star is even too much for this company. Please stay away from them. The Customer service isn’t existent in this company. Someone whose name is Rachel is very rude and just ignorant, it seems she felt so happy when she understood she’s making the customer feel angry.
Contract Length and Fees
Standard Variable Rates
If you make a choice not to renew at the end of your contract, you will be automatically transferred to Axis for Business’s Standard Variable tariff. These types of fares are often considerably more than the rates you will get when you are in a contract with an energy company, and they are usually called ‘out of contract’ standards.
It is advisable that if you find yourself in a position where your business is on ‘deemed’ or ‘out of contract’ rates, you should immediately find a way to get out of it or you might find yourself with a very high bill.

Non-Direct Debit Rates
If you cannot or do not pay via direct debit, Axis for Business has a tariff that is precisely for that reason. Although these rates are lower than being in ‘deemed’ or ‘out of contract’ rates, it does appear that this rate is still a lot higher than many other tariffs that are available.

Axis for Business Reviews
Generally speaking, Axis for Business does not have a positive reputation, based on the 1.6-star rating on their Google page. However, this is only out of 20 reviews in total, so it is hard to gauge whether this is because of a few one-off situations or not.
Many of these negative reviews seem to be based on poor customer support and changes in the price of bills.
Online reviews aren’t always accurate, but it is crucial to compare energy suppliers before deciding to switch.
Positive Axis for Business Review
Andrew Clough on Google:
Just renewed fax, phones, and broadband for the fifth year. I can’t fault the service or the prices. Our phones were down on Monday morning, and I phoned Axis when they opened, it was sorted within the hour, and they rang me back to check everything was okay.
Negative Axis for Business Review
Susan Bland on Google:
Not happy with Axis at all, I was badly advised over my broadband usage, and now I have to pay extra or pay over £4,000 to get out!
