Switching

SSE Energy Solutions supplies businesses only. Small and medium businesses can get quotes online or on 0800 389 4466 for SSE Protect or SSE Choice fixed plans of up to three years. Large businesses get plans through the energy team. Sites without an agreed contract, including new occupiers and businesses whose fixed term has ended, pay Variable Business Rates under deemed terms. No notice is needed to leave VBR, which apply until the new supplier takes over. Contracts assume variable Direct Debit, which carries a 0.5p/kWh electricity or 0.1p/kWh gas discount; the same amount is added if Direct Debit is not in place. SSE's former household supply business, SSE Energy Services, was sold to OVO Energy in January 2020. Household customers are with OVO, not SSE Energy Solutions.
