Customers moved to: British Gas (British Gas Trading Limited), under Ofgem's Supplier of Last Resort process, from Saturday 11 September 2021. About 82,000 domestic and 5,600 non-domestic customers moved.

PFP Energy, which traded as Places for People Energy until 2017, was a Preston-based gas and electricity supplier to homes and businesses. It announced it was ceasing to trade on 7 September 2021, during the wholesale price crisis. Ofgem moved its roughly 82,000 domestic and 5,600 non-domestic customers to British Gas from 11 September 2021, and the supply companies are now in creditors' voluntary liquidation.

Customers and switching

PFP Energy stopped supplying energy in September 2021, so you cannot switch to it. Its business and domestic customers were moved to British Gas on 11 September 2021 under Ofgem's Supplier of Last Resort process, and no exit fees applied if they then switched away. British Gas agreed to honour credit balances for PFP Energy's domestic customers, including former customers, and also for its non-domestic customers. Customers who owed PFP Energy money were told to wait to hear from British Gas or PFP Energy's administrators. A former PFP Energy business customer who is still with British Gas can compare and switch in the usual way.
