MA Energy Limited was a London-based electricity supplier to businesses. It was incorporated in 2008 as Midlands Associates Limited and took its current name in September 2008. It announced it was ceasing to trade on 2 November 2021, after failing to meet a £941,835.25 Renewables Obligation payment. Ofgem revoked its licence on 7 November 2021 and moved its customers to SmartestEnergy Business. The company went into administration and then creditors' voluntary liquidation, and is due to be dissolved on 27 September 2026.

Customers and switching

MA Energy no longer supplies energy. Its roughly 300 business electricity customers moved to SmartestEnergy Business Limited under Ofgem's Supplier of Last Resort process from 7 November 2021. SmartestEnergy agreed to honour credit balances for current and former MA Energy non-domestic customers. Anyone still owed money or owing money should deal with SmartestEnergy or the insolvency practitioners: Ashok K Bhardwaj (Bhardwaj Limited, 47/49 Green Lane, Northwood, HA6 3AE) and Asher Miller (Pearl Assurance House, 319 Ballards Lane, London N12 8LY). They were administrators from 10 Nov 2021 and have been joint liquidators since 18 May 2023. Former customers can compare business electricity from any licensed supplier.
