Customers moved to: Shell Energy UK Limited. This is the same legal entity (07489042), renamed on 6 Nov 2020 and rebranded on 9 Nov 2020. Business customers' contracts did not change and their supply was not interrupted. The company still supplies businesses today under the Shell Energy brand.

Hudson Energy UK was the British business-energy arm of Canada's Just Energy Group. It traded as Hudson Energy for business customers and as Green Star Energy for households. Shell bought the company in November 2019 and rebranded it as Shell Energy in November 2020. The same licensed company still supplies gas and electricity to businesses in Great Britain as Shell Energy UK Limited. In November 2023 Ofgem fined Hudson Energy Supply UK Ltd £1,668,426 for ten licence breaches, including overcharging business customers, during a period when a third party ran some of its customer operations (the arrangement ended July 2020).

Customers and switching

Hudson Energy no longer trades under that name. On 9 November 2020 Shell rebranded it as Shell Energy, and the licensed company, Hudson Energy Supply UK Limited, had been renamed Shell Energy UK Limited three days earlier. Former Hudson Energy business customers are now Shell Energy UK customers, and existing contracts carried over unchanged. Business customers can reach Shell Energy UK on 0330 088 2679 (the same number Hudson Energy used) or at SEUKL-contactus@shell.com, 8am–5pm Monday to Friday. Customers whose fixed contract ends without a renewal or termination notice are moved to Shell Energy UK's variable extended supply rates. No termination fee applies to deemed or extended supply.
