Switching

Business quotes are tailored. Businesses enquire online or with sales (0345 034 2403, business-sales@goodenergy.co.uk), and Good Energy manages the switch. SME supply is aimed at sites using under about 200,000 kWh of electricity a year, and large business supply at sites above that level, often half-hourly metered or multi-site. The SME terms (December 2024) include the following. Micro business customers have a cooling-off period of up to 14 days where the contract starts more than 28 days before supply begins. A renewal notice is sent around 60 days before a fixed-rate period ends. Customers can switch away to take effect at the end of a fixed-rate period. Good Energy may ask for a security deposit. A customer who does not agree a new contract moves to deemed or out-of-contract rates, which are published. Under the deemed terms, a micro business contract ends automatically when a switch takes effect, and other businesses give 30 days' written notice. Smart meters are installed through Good Energy's partner SMS (0330 808 9367).
