Gnergy Limited was a small community-focused gas and electricity supplier based in Farnborough. It was incorporated in 2009 as Lumen Energy Supply Limited. It stopped trading in March 2020, and Ofgem moved its customers to Bulb Energy, whose customers later moved to Octopus Energy. The company is now in compulsory liquidation, and it has no active tariffs or supply licence.

Customers and switching

Gnergy no longer supplies energy, and there is nothing to switch to or from. Ofgem announced on 18 March 2020 that Gnergy was ceasing to trade. At that point it had around 9,000 domestic customers and a small number of non-domestic customers. Ofgem appointed Bulb Energy as Supplier of Last Resort, and Gnergy's gas and electricity supply licences were revoked with effect from 22 March 2020. Bulb committed to honour credit balances for current and former Gnergy customers. Bulb later failed, and its customers moved to Octopus Energy in December 2022. Businesses that were once supplied by Gnergy should check who supplies them now and compare current business tariffs. The company entered administration on 27 March 2020 and compulsory liquidation on 17 March 2023, and the liquidators are Hudson Weir Limited.
