Co-operative Energy (Supplier of Last Resort, from 30 November 2016). The former GB Energy accounts later moved to Octopus Energy under the 2019 Midcounties Co-operative/Octopus deal.

GB Energy Supply was a Preston-based gas and electricity supplier with about 160,000 customers. It ceased trading in November 2016 after Ofgem revoked its supply licences. Its customers were moved to Co-operative Energy as Supplier of Last Resort and later became Octopus Energy customers. The company went through administration and liquidation and was dissolved on 22 February 2023.

Customers and switching

GB Energy Supply no longer supplies energy, so there is nothing to switch away from. Under Ofgem's Supplier of Last Resort process, its customers were moved to Co-operative Energy from 30 November 2016. Co-op Energy kept customers on the same prices they had been paying, honoured credit balances (including those owed to past customers who had already switched away), and charged no exit fees for customers who chose to switch again. Octopus Energy later took on the GB Energy customer accounts in 2019. Former customers with account queries should contact Octopus Energy, as the Trustpilot profile directs. The old gbenergysupply.co.uk domain now leads to a third-party broker page, not a supplier.
