Extra Energy Supply Limited was a Birmingham-based gas and electricity supplier. It served domestic and small business customers from 2014 until it ceased trading on 21 November 2018. Ofgem moved its customers to ScottishPower under the Supplier of Last Resort process, and the company has been in creditors' voluntary liquidation, handled by PwC, since June 2021.

Customers and switching

Extra Energy no longer supplies energy, and its gas and electricity supply licences were revoked on 25 Nov 2018. Business and domestic customers moved automatically to ScottishPower on 25 Nov 2018. ScottishPower committed to honouring credit balances for current and former Extra Energy customers. The liquidators direct refund queries to ScottishPower on 0800 027 0072 or EECreditQuery@scottishpower.com. All other queries go to the liquidators at uk_extra_energy_cvl@pwc.com. The liquidators say that, because of the age of the debts, they are taking no further action to recover old Extra Energy debts. Extra Energy's own phone lines are permanently closed. Anyone looking for business energy now needs to get quotes from a currently licensed supplier.
