Switching

Customers already in a contract switch the day after their current contract ends. Out-of-contract or deemed customers switch within 5 working days once Clear Business has the information it needs. When a fixed term ends, the contract rolls onto a 12-month renewal period unless the customer opts out in writing or by phone. A renewal notice arrives around 60 days before the end date. Customers who opt out move to out-of-contract rates. Under the energy terms, rolled-over contracts move onto a pass-through tariff. Leaving during a fixed period can bring an early termination fee: the average estimated monthly consumption multiplied by the months remaining. Unresolved complaints can go to the Energy Ombudsman after 8 weeks (membership C35VERA01).
