Bulb was a UK energy supplier founded in 2013 that stopped trading in November 2021, when it entered special administration during the wholesale price crisis. After a government-run sale process, its roughly 1.5 million customers and its supply licences passed to Octopus Energy in December 2022. Bulb Energy Ltd remains in administration and no longer offers tariffs to domestic or business customers.

Customers and switching

Bulb no longer supplies energy and cannot be switched to. Bulb Energy Ltd entered the Energy Supply Company Special Administration Regime on 24 November 2021. Its customers were transferred to Octopus Energy under an Energy Transfer Scheme that took effect on 20/21 December 2022, and their credit balances and Direct Debits moved over with them. Anyone who was a Bulb customer is now supplied by Octopus Energy and can switch away from Octopus in the usual way.
