What’s in this review?
If you’re thinking about switching your business energy to Ecotricity, you may have read their reviews on Trustpilot.
But does this truly reflect the Ecotricity service that customers can expect?
This guide will tell you everything you need to know about this green energy company, from what services they offer, reviews from trusted sources and whether this business is for you.
Let’s take a closer look at Ecotricity.
Introduction
Founded in 1996, Ecotricity claim to be not only Britain but the world’s first green energy company. Serving over 200,000 customers across the UK, this independent energy company may be lesser known than it’s ‘big six’ competitors, but has a rich history of providing alternative energy.
Costs and Fees
Although the price of Ecotricity’s electricity and gas may cost more than their competitors, they claim that this is because your energy bills will help build renewable sources of energy for the UK.
They call it ‘bills to mills’, Ecotricity put all of their money (and your energy bills) back into their ‘mission’ to bring more of these sources to fuel the country.
They are also expanding what they call the ‘electricity highway’ which is their network of electric car charging points, and technologies to make and supply green energy.

Customer Support
Ecotricity does have a mixed review on Trustpilot.
Many of the negative reviews seem to be more recent than old, based on poor customer service and what appears to be administration issues. These issues can be rectified, but it will take an investment from Ecotricity to try and see where they can improve their service.
Online reviews aren’t always accurate, but it is essential to take them into consideration when deciding whether to switch suppliers.
Positive Customer Support Review
Lisset Burrett & Kevin Davies on Trustpilot:
Ecotricity staff have been helpful, prompt and polite. Thanks.
Negative Customer Support Review
Such a shame to leave a company with a promising ethos a bad review. Terrible experience trying to switch to. Appalling customer service and a seeming lack of communication between their departments have caused numerous problems.

My bill has doubled compared to last year, and customer service is not good. Not the company that it used to be. Looking to switch right now.
