Disrupt Agriculture: A Startup Accelerator for Food System Entrepreneurs

This spring, four entrepreneurs with promising early-stage startups working in food and agriculture will get a chance to bring their dreams closer to reality through a unique startup accelerator program near Omaha, Nebraska.

yotsu-logoDisrupt Agriculture, which is the second accelerator program from Year of the Startup, will house four entrepreneurs in a farmhouse on an organic family farm, where they can take advantage of not only mentorship and startup resources, but also acreage and outbuildings to grow or make or develop their own projects.

For this program, Year of the Startup is looking for entrepreneurs working on these types of projects:

  • Renewable energy
  • Natural building
  • Small scale agriculture
  • Controlled environment agriculture
  • Controlled environment construction
  • Specialty crop
  • Value added product
  • Micro-winery, micro-distillery, micro-brewery
  • Permaculture
  • Aquaculture
  • Diary
  • Poultry
  • Composting
  • A food related app
  • Grocery store

The application deadline for Disrupt Agriculture is 2/20/15, and the startup accelerator program will begin on 4/1/15 (entrepreneurs working on projects that require prepping the soil may arrive earlier) and runs through to the fall. The application is located here.
